This Software Engineer II role is designed as an 'Onsite' position, primarily requiring work from an HPE office in Bangalore, Karnataka. The successful candidate will be responsible for coding and programming enhancements, executing test plans, debugging issues, and contributing to the design and development of software systems. This includes working on complex packet forwarding features and assisting in resolving customer issues.

Job Description & Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Codes and programs enhancements, updates, and changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
- Executes established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code; identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues.
- Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.
- Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderately- complex products.
- Design and Develop complex packet forward features in L2 Forwarding, IPv4/IPv6/MPLS/VPLS, EVPN, CFM etc.
- Analyze, debug and fix complex microkernel/Linux issues. Continuously drive innovations by working with cross functional teams to address complex problems.
- Assist in solving complex customer issues and queries reported from the field and drive customer satisfaction. Work on maintaining existing features.
Eligibility Criteria
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Typically 0-3 years experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience or understanding of software systems design tools and languages.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platform types.
- Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
- A minimum of 2+ years of strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills is required.
- Knowledge & course-work are required in the following areas: advanced networking (Layer 1-4 protocols: Ethernet, TCP/IP, MPLS, VPLS, EVPN, CFM, routing protocols, etc.), layer 2/3 packet forwarding, operating systems internals, algorithms, and computer architecture.
- Experience with RISC and Real time OS is a plus. Proficiency with test equipment is desired.
